Consider these Advantages

How do Invert-A-Bolt™ Products Lower YOUR Cost?

Put Lean Manufacturing concepts to work!
Realize savings on every "tabbed" part by:

• Reducing stock size on every part
• Reducing Number of Setups by eliminating clamp changes
• Reduce Fixture size by eliminating clamps
• Invert-A-Bolt™ products provide a unique & cost saving solution to holding & locating
• Eliminate Bridge Fixtures
• Reduce Programming Headaches – Gets bolts & clamps out of the way!
• Eliminate grinding bolts to length & time spent "searching" for the right length bolts
• Save $$ by creating a Universal Fixture with Invert-A-Bolt™ products and your favorite modular components!
• Reducing obstructions to the manufacturing process can limit exposure to "accidents" and related injuries.

And many other advantages

Some of the typical problems solved by using Invert-A-Bolt™ products:

• Problems keeping bolts and clamps with the mill fixture between production runs…

The IVB fastener is a self-contained unit that installs directly into the mill fixture. It stays with the mill fixture even when not in use.

• Losing too much time searching for "right length" bolts for the setup…

This is a consistent problem with NC machined parts in which a counter-bored hole is used (the length is determined by NC programmer). The bolt is contained in the IVB fastener unit and secures the part from underneath, it uses same length bolts for each unit. No "right length" bolt is required.

• Clamps and bolts obstructing the milling process…

Since the IVB fastener secures the part from underneath with only ½" engagement (.098 cubic inches) in the part, this low obstruction profile allows for milling much closer to the part/tool and holding mechanism.

• Would like to remove tooling tabs during the production process…

Since the IVB fastener secures the part from underneath, the bolt can be screwed down into the mill fixture during the production process, and tooling tabs can be milled off completely.

• Riser blocks are time consuming and expensive to use…

IVB work supports require no other preparation other than a tapped hole with one internal bored hole (to hold Z dimension). Their use saves time and resources.

• Too much time preparing the mill fixture from both sides…

The threaded outer housing of the IVB fastener allows it to be installed directly into the top of the mill fixture without need for any work on the back side of the mill fixture.

• Using a "back-bolt" type process, but having problems shutting down production to replace damaged bolts…

Since the IVB fastener screws directly into the top of the mill fixture the unit can be easily replaced without removing the mill fixture.

Tell me about how the product is being used now

• A company was able to reduce their number of setups from 7 to 2.

• A complex mill fixture (for tooling an aluminum forging, consisting of clamp rests, nest blocks, clamps, tooling buttons, etc.) was replaced by a flat plate with IVB products.

• A titanium window frame had no other valid solution for milling to within .34" of the base with a special wheel cutter – the IVB fastener made it possible.

• An EDM customer to use the IVB fastener to eliminate head collision problems.

• Several customers are using IVB products with their high speed machining applications to remove obstructions from their process.

• Universal fixturing application used with a bag press producing hydroform parts.

• A natural improvement for anyone using the "back-bolt" process.

• A company is installing IVB Universal Fixturing Plugs™ (UFP) in a long run production tool as a replacement for helical threaded inserts. The UFP’s are much easier to work with than threaded inserts. No need to drill out or use E-Z-Outs when worn out or damaged. Just screw it out and replace. Plus they last much longer than a standard threaded insert.

IVB products are not just for special tooling conditions. The majority of IVB products sold to-date have been for use with universal fixturing applications. Many customers are using them to replace their current clamping or bolting situation. Most of the machine operators that we hear from, who have used IVB products in their process, prefer IVB products to other holding methods.
