Work Supports
The Invert-A-Bolt™ (IVB) Work Support* is an assembly that incorporates all of the advantages of the IVB fastener with the added benefit that it can be used as an adjustable support. IVB Work Supports have an overall length that is controlled +/- .001" so they can be use to nest and locate if desired. The IVB Work Support is intended to operate in conjunction with other AA03-xxx-xxx products and may be located in the same hole as that used by the AA03-xxx-xxx IVB fasteners. The IVB Work Support is typically used in one of two ways: In a common modular fixture it screws into one of the 1 ¼" diameter holes and the height is controlled by screwing it to the required depth at which time the jam nut is screwed against the fixture to lock it in place; In a dedicated fixture the receiving hole is drilled and counter-bored to the exact depth required and the Work Support is screwed down until it "bottoms" in the hole - the use of the jam nut is optional. Once the Work Support is installed to the proper height, it is used just like any other IVB fastener to pull down and hold material that has been properly prepared to accept the IVB fastener stud.
